A new In-N-Out will open at 10:30 a.m. today, May 9, at 3860 Eagle Boulevard, near Interstate 76 and East 114th Avenue in Brighton.
It was just over two years ago that Denver got its first In-N-Out Burger joint: A local link in the beloved California-based fast-food chain opened on April 28, 2023, at 4597 North Central Park Boulevard, close by where another beloved all-American chain, Cracker Barrel, opened its first Denver location last month.
The cult-inspiring eatery that started as a single burger stand in 1948 in the L.A. suburb of Baldwin Park finally made its long-awaited debut in Colorado in 2020, with outposts in Aurora and Colorado Springs. But the company had been whetting Colorado appetites for years, announcing in 2017 that it would finally build a regional In-N-Out headquarters in Colorado Springs, which would allow it to serve multiple outposts in the state.
The openings of Colorado's first In-N-Outs were marked by lines of hungry fans — and grateful ex-pat Californians — waiting up to twelve hours for a taste of In-N-Out's burgers, fries and shakes. Over time, the lines shrank to maybe half an hour, depending on the time of day. It was a replay of the waits people were willing to suffer when Krispy Kreme Doughnuts first came to Colorado.
After the first In-N-Outs opened in Colorado, locations were added in Lakewood, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Parker Arvada and Thornton (with a couple more in Colorado Springs), and while each addition drew plenty of hungry customers, we didn't see the hours-long lines that had snaked outside the first Colorado locations, snarling traffic.
All In-N-Out Burger locations are open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. weekdays and until 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
If a Double-Double animal-style (or even the bind-blowing Quad-Quad with four, count 'em four patties) doesn't inspire you to sit in a long drive-thru line, skip the fanfare and instead hit up one of our picks for the best burgers in Denver. Or get that old-school burger joint experience at a classic local spot.
