Another local brewery is calling it quits. "It's the end of an era for 14er Brewing & Beer Garden," reads a November 17 Instagram post. "Join us for one final pour as we say goodbye."

The brewery's last day at 3120 Blake Street is Saturday, November 23. It will be open from noon until "late" with food from Moya's Tacos, live music and bingo.

14er Brewing was founded by Andrew Kaczmarek and Nato Francescato in 2016 and won a gold medal at that year's Great American Beer Festival for its chile beer — before it had even found a location for a taproom. In 2017, the two signed a lease for a space on Walnut Street in RiNo, where they opened a rudimentary tasting room.

The next year, 14er Brewing took over the lease and equipment of the former Beryl's Beer Company space on Blake Street that it's called home ever since. By the end of 2018, it had plans for a full remodel of the Walnut Street location, but eventually dropped that idea to focus on the Blake Street operation. “We plan on making Blake Street our long-term home now,” Kaczmarek told Westword in 2019.

Five years later, 14er's run is coming to an end — and it's becoming the latest in a growing list of brewery closures this year that includes Alpine Dog in Denver and Bell Brothers in Colorado Springs. Those follow some major closures in 2023 as well.

"Let's make this a day to remember," 14er's closing announcement concludes. "Cheers to so many amazing memories! From first dates to weddings receptions, retirement parties and everything in between! A huge THANK YOU to all of our family, friends, staff, and amazing customers that have supported us on this epic journey!"
