Update, 3:22 p.m. (October 29): The Source reopened today at 2 p.m. after the collapsed crane was removed and an inspector cleared the building as safe for occupancy. A statement from Zeppelin Places read:
To the best of our knowledge, this is what the tenants are planning: Mondo Market, Super Ordinary, The Proper Pour, Western Daughters will open right away. Comida and Acorn will be open for happy hour and dinner. The RiNo Yacht Club will open at 5 p.m. and Crooked Stave will open the tap room at 5:30 p.m. Babette's Artisan Breads, Beet & Yarrow, and Collegiate Peaks Bank will resume regular hours tomorrow.
Update, 9:20 a.m. (October 29): The Source is still closed this morning. A spokesperson for the company indicates that the crane is being removed right now and that the reopening time will be assessed after that task is completed.
Update, 11:53 a.m. (October 28): A spokesperson for the Source indicates that the construction worker injured on the scene of the crane accident is on his way home after being treated for bruises but no major injuries. Zeppelin Places is hopeful that the Source will reopen for business tomorrow for normal hours (8 a.m. to 11 p.m.), but that confirmation from building inspectors has not yet been received.
If you were planning on heading to the Source for lunch, dinner or shopping today, you might want to change those plans. The entire building is closed until further notice after a crane working on the site of the Source Hotel next door (at 3300 Brighton Boulevard) hit the roof of the historic former ironwork factory at 8:30 a.m. this morning, causing debris to fall inside the building and injuring one construction worker on the hotel property. No one inside the building was injured.
Zeppelin Places, which owns both properties, stated that the Source has been evacuated and will remain closed until a structural inspector can verify that there is no further danger. The injured construction worker was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, but there is no news on the extent of his injuries.
Restaurants, bars and food vendors at the Source include Acorn, Comida Cantina, Babette's Artisan Breads, Boxcar Coffee Roasters, Mondo Market, the Proper Pour, RiNo Yacht Club, Western Daughters Butcher Shoppe and Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project.
