John Carpenter Will Bring Lost Themes to Denver — Tickets Now on Sale

Director John Carpenter has made some of the most memorable films of the last forty years, and one of the things that made them memorable was the music: Carpenter has been the music composer for his entire catalog — and beyond. Now Carpenter’s bringing his music into a different kind of theater for a world tour, John Carpenter: LIVE Retrospective, that will land in Denver this summer for a show at the Gothic.
Tickets go on sale this Friday for the June 21 show, where the visionary director of such classics as Halloween, The Fog, Big Trouble In Little China, The Thing, They Live and Escape From New York will take the stage to play his masterful synth-driven themes from those films, along with new original numbers featured on his hit non-soundtrack album Lost Themes and its upcoming sequel, Lost Themes II (out April 15).

Lost Themes is a collaboration between Carpenter, his son Cody and godson Daniel Davies (son of The Kinks’ Dave Davies), and while the first album was made up of original recordings collected over the years, Lost Themes II was recorded last year in one session. The first single off of the new work, "Distant Dream," was released yesterday via Carpenter’s website.
For many film fans, experiencing the director’s musical works outside of the big screen — much less live and in-person — is a dream/nightmare come true. 

The John Carpenter: LIVE Retrospective hits the Gothic Theater, 3263 South Broadway, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21. The show is 16+ and tickets will run $52 to $77, with special VIP meet-and-greet packages available. For tickets and more information go to axs.com.
