The third annual Denver Burger Battle goes down at Sports Authority Field at Mile High this evening. The popular event is nearly sold out, but there are still some general admission tickets available.

Competitors this year include TAG, Cholon, The Sink, Highland Tap and Burger (last year's People's Choice winner), Park Burger (judged the best in 2010 and 2011), Larkburger, Mateo, Madison Street, H Burger, Row 14, Crave Real Burgers, and Citygrille.

Chefs Max Mackissock of Squeaky Bean, Daniel Asher of Linger, Hosea Rosenberg of Top Chef and Jenna Johansen of Bravo's Around the World in 80 Plates will determine the winner of the challenge. Of course, attendees will get their say as well and this year, the People's Choice winner will represent Denver in the World Food Championship being held in Las Vegas this November.

The bovine battle begins at 7 p.m.; for more information and to purchase tickets, go to the Denver Burger Battle website.
