In April, when a study named Denver the best pizza city in the country, people had a lot of opinions about that declaration. But no matter where you think the Mile High ranks, it's undeniable that the metro area's pizza options — and the area's pizza styles â€” are plentiful these days.

Through Sunday, October 27, we're celebrating the glorious combination of dough, sauce and cheese with Denver Pizza Week — the ideal excuse to get out and try some new pies and maybe win some prizes, too.

Over a dozen restaurants are participating by offering a $10 pie (while supplies last). Using the Denver Westword Pizza Week app, diners can check in to earn points for every pie they try. If you hit up four spots, you'll be entered to win the grand prize, a $500 Visa gift card.

Here are some highlights:

Gusto: Amalfi Pie
ChoLon chef/owner Lon Symensma debuted his Italian restaurant Gusto near Sloan's Lake in March. During Pizza Week, stop by to try its citrus-spiked take on a white pizza, the Amalfi Pie with confit lemon, Calabrian chile, Pecorino and ricotta.

Rosso Pomodoro: Margherita
This Italian-born chain chose Denver's Central Park neighborhood for its first standalone location in the U.S. It debuted in June and is offering its signature classic Margherita pie for Pizza Week, made with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil and extra-virgin olive oil.

Denver Milk Market: Pizza a la Vodka
There have been some changes at this Dairy Block food hall since ownership changed from Bonanno Concepts to Sage Hospitality Group, including the recent addition of Fuso, a new pizza and pasta concept. Its $10 Pizza Week special, Pizza a la Vodka, is made with vodka tomato cream sauce, fresh mozzarella, Parmesan and fresh basil.

Anthony's Pizza: 12-inch New York-style cheese
If you, like Kevin from Home Alone, prefer simplicity for your pizza fix, you cannot go wrong with this Denver-born chain that's also celebrating its fortieth anniversary this month.

Roberta's: Rosso
This Brooklyn-born restaurant (and Michelin Bib Gourmand pick) that's known for its Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas is behind the food at the new Urban Cowboy Public House. It's Pizza Week $10 pie is the Rosso with tomato, basil, garlic and oregano.

Cucina Bella: Diavola
This small strip mall spot near the Denver-Aurora border was opened by two brothers in 2022 and remains off the radar for many. But it shouldn't, and Pizza Week is the ideal time to drop by for a taste — starting with its $10 special, the Diavola topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicy salumi, ricotta cheese, Calabrian chile oil and oregano.
