Beth "Fiona Grapple" Bandimere and Mona "Triple Shot Misto" -- the roller derby moms of The Amazing Race fame -- are teammates on both the CBS reality TV series (still hanging in there as of this writing) and the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls' 5280 Fight Club traveling squad, but they'll be rivals tomorrow when RMRG's intra-league teams Sugar Kill Gang and United States Pummeling Service go head-to-head at The Fillmore.

"It's very exciting because they're long-time friends and teammates but also have a long rivalry and have always been on opposing teams locally," RMRG spokeswoman Meghan Dougherty says. "Roller derby is like that. It's also exciting because the bout will air live for free on the ColoradoSports.TV website thanks to our new partnership, so fans of both RMRG and the roller-derby moms can tune in from afar."

Tickets for the bout, which opens at 6 p.m., are also still available for $20 at Derbyville or $20 plus $6 handling fees at RockyMountainRollergirls.com. Children 12 and under get in free. And don't be late: Westword Best of Denver winners The Rocky Mountain Rollerpunks will be terrorizing the track in an exhibition bout that begins promptly at 6:20 p.m.

For even more roller derby moms action, join local fans on Sunday, April 14, for The Amazing Race Watch Party at Rooster & Moon from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
