Have you ever wondered where those flashy images on your snowboard come from? Just check out the annual Design the Modern Board Competition, sponsored by the Design Within Reach furniture studio in Cherry Creek North, and you'll have at least one good answer. Competing artists near and far have already submitted their modern snowboard graphics to K2 Snowboards; tonight, they'll be unveiled to the public for a final vote during the third annual event, taking place from 6 to 9 p.m. at DWR. The proceedings will include beats by One Productions, Vodka Fourteen cocktails and eats courtesy of Wahoo's Fish Taco. The winning design will eventually be seen bombing down the slopes, perhaps beneath your own two feet, on a radical new K2 stick.
