It's happening again. Just as in 2007, when the Colorado Rockies' World Series run coaxed people who would usually rather shave their body with a rotary lawnmower than watch a baseball game to plant themselves in front of their set, viewers are clicking on FSN Rocky Mountain's coverage of the team in huge numbers. The net boasts that the Rocks' epic 6-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday is the third-highest-rated Rockies broadcast ever on FSN. Okay, that's a little misleading, since three games have drawn a bigger audience -- although two of them registered the same total viewership when rounded off. Still, expect these totals to build, especially if the Rockies keep pulling off thrilling extra-inning victories like last night's 5-4 win over the L.A. Dodgers. Even members of the baseball-is-boring crowd would have loved every second of that contest -- if they live in Colorado, that is.

Update, 2 p.m. August 26: The ratings for the aforementioned 5-4 Rockies win over the Dodgers were just released, and they're considerably higher than those earned on Monday. In fact, they represent a new FSN record. Click "Continue" to eyeball FSN's two most recent press releases -- the one in which finishing third seemed like a big deal, and its successor, which crows about the latest standard. Of course, that mark may not last long, either....
