On Wednesday we salute those who have served our country; a number of restaurants are offering free meals and discounts. But through the week there are deals and special events for all diners, all around metro Denver — including the start of First Bite Boulder. Monday, November 9
 

Frasca Food and Wine will explore Craft Wines with Paul Strode at today's Monday Night Wine Dinner. The weekly series gives renowned wine experts the opportunity to pair wines with chef/co-owner Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson’s seasonal menu; Frasca co-owner and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey will also be on-hand working the floor. Dinner is $50 per person for four courses, not including the optional wine pairings, which range from $40 to $50 per person. For reservations, call Frasca at 303-442-6966. 

Jezebel’s Southern Bistro and Leopold Distillery are joining forces for a five-course whiskey dinner at 7 p.m. tonight. Dishes from executive chef John Wilson will be paired with cocktails by mixologist Josh Burbank. The dinner is $100 per person; RSVP by calling the restaurant at 303-433-4060 or going to jezebelslohi.com.  

Tuesday, November 10

Duo Restaurant
will welcome John Sutcliffe and winemaker Joe Buckel for a four-course, Sutcliffe Vinyards wine dinner tonight. Tickets are $68 per person; call Duo at 303-477-4141.   

Wednesday, November 11

On Veterans day, Village Inn is honoring active and retired military members with free breakfast, a free slice of pie and a "Thank You for Your Service Card," which will get the card holders 20 percent off of their next visit. Even those who haven't served can get a free slice of pie with any purchase today, during Free Pie Wednesday. For more information, visit villageinn.com.  

Concepts Restaurant Group is honoring those who have served by offering vets a free meal today. Former and active duty military personnel who show their military ID or wear their uniform will receive a free meal and non-alcoholic drink at any Concepts restaurant. Vets can stop by Blue Island Oyster BarHumboldt Farm, Fish & WineIgnite Burgers & Bar and Spruce Farm & Fish to cash in on this deal.

At 6:30 p.m., Firenze a Tavola will be exploring the wines of Emilia-Romagna. The five-course wine dinner is $58 per person. For reservations, call 303-561-0234.

Ian Clark, chef/founder of BRU handbuilt ales & eats, is teaming up with chef Jensen Cummings from Brewed Food for BRU's November’s Beer Dinner, featuring dishes from both chefs with a focus on fermented foods. The two chefs also brewed a special collaboration Imperial Stout for the dinner, which starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60; for reservations call the restaurant at 720-638-5193. 

Thursday, November 12 

Green Russell is celebrating five years of mixing it up on Larimer Square. The speakeasy will be offering $5 cocktails and $5 snacks, from 5 p.m. until midnight.  For more information, call the bar at 303-893-6505.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House will host a Neyers Wine Dinner at 7 p.m. tonight. The restaurant will be serving a four-course meal with wine pairings for $145 per person; call 303-976-0100 to make your reservations. 

At 6:30 p.m., Morton's will host Avery Brewing Company for a special five-course beer dinner. Tickets are $65; call 303-825-3353.  

Civic Center Eats is gone for the winter, but Nosh & Posh will bring food trucks and mobile boutiques to Civic Center Park every second Thursday of the month for a dose of food and fashion. The first Nosh & Posh runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, and the event will return every month through April 14. For more information, head to civiccenterconservancy.org

The Kitchen Denver is holding a Distiller's List Pairing Dinner, with guests Leopold Bros. and Strongwater Bitters, from 7:30 p.m to 10:30 p.m. The Kitchen's Hugo Matheson will be cooking dishes to pair with cocktails. Tickets are $127.59; get yours here.

The Alliance Française De Denver is holding an educational wine-tasting class on the Grapes of Southeast France from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. Alliance Française sommelier Ashley Vaughters and cheeses expert Devin Lamma from Whole Foods Market Cherry Creek will explore Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Cinsault, in six wines and pairings. Friday, November 13

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse in Englewood is teaming up with Tender Belly for a Bourbon and Belly dinner, featuring four courses paired with four premium bourbon cocktails. The tenth annual First Bite Boulder restaurant week kicks off today and will run through November 21. Over forty Boulder restaurants will be serving special, three-course menus for just $29 per person—some for even less.
