Cannabis Calendar for June 2017

The summer calendar is filling up with cannabis-related events, and there are still a few more in June. Here's a look at what's ahead.

Marijuana Symposium on Pregnancy & Child Development

Part of the Teratology Society's annual meeting on birth defects, this symposium will feature world-renowned scientists and the latest research surrounding the effects of marijuana exposure during pregnancy, breastfeeding and childhood. Crystals, Cannabis & Yoga

Holly Hoops and Nicole Moonrise will take guests on an hour-plus yoga flow infused with cannabis, education and raw crystals at the Beat on Tuesday, June 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with another class from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Learn about cannabis healing, the body's endocannabinoid system, crystals in the human energy field and more. Registration for the 21+ class is $20 per person.

Colorado Department of Agriculture Marijuana Worker Safety Course

The Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Occupational Safety and Health Association are teaming up to host a health-and-safety course for marijuana employees on Wednesday, June 28, at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The class runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will teach employers and employees which federal regulations apply to cultivating marijuana, and the worker-protection obligations that employers have under the law. Workers will learn about proper hazard communication, respiratory protection, machine guarding and ergonomics programs. Registration is $25 and includes lunch. Learn more here.

Puff, Pass & Pincushion

Join local Denver artist Leslie Moffatt of Heathen Handmade designs for a two-hour class on how to stitch your way to a cannabis-inspired pattern. The needlepoint art class is held on Wednesday, June 28, from 7 to 9 p.m at a location in the Denver University area that will be given upon registration. Registration is $49; all art supplies are included. Attendees may bring their own cannabis, but none will be sold at the event. 21+
