High Times and Rick Ross will be here in less than two weeks, but until then, you can enjoy a spa-day fundraiser for the Cannabis Consumer Coalition, participate in the battle between caregivers and recent local government rulings and more in this week's cannabis calendar.

The beginning of Rebecca Cook's lawsuit against Mayor Michael Hancock and the city of Denver for approving a 36-plant limit for non-licensed marijuana grows will take place Wednesday, April 8 at 8:30 a.m. in room 269 of the Denver City and County Building. Cook, a Littleton medical marijuana patient, filed an injunction against Hancock for signing the bill (approved 11-0 on March 3 by the City Council), because she says it will decrease her plant limit to an intolerable amount for the tinctures she makes and dispensaries can't fulfill her needs. 

Good Chemistry will be opening its second dispensary location at 16840 East Iliff Avenue on Thursday, April 9. The new 3,600-square-foot retail location will be open daily, from 11 a.m. to 9:45 p.m.

For those interested in cannabis law, Prohibition will be hosting a Cannabis Law League Mixer on Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. Law students and cannabis professionals will meet and discuss the legal issues of the ever-changing marijuana business over cocktails. The Cannabis Consumer Coalition will be putting on a Ganja Goddess Spa Day on Saturday, April 11 at Get High Getaways Bed & Breakfast, located at 1486 South Brentwood Street in Lakewood. There will be a trio of four-hour spa sessions at $420 to "honor hard-working women in the cannabis movement" that include reflexology, massage, Reiki treatment, hot tub & steam room, facial and ion foot detox. The package features food and beverages, cannabis flower, concentrates and edibles. Black car services are available for an additional $100. Proceeds go to fund the Cannabis Consumers Coalition’s consumer advocacy and educational programs. For more information, click here.

Journalist and author Bruce Barcott will be discussing his new book about legalizing cannabis, Weed the People, Tuesday, April 14 at the Denver Press Club. The discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free. Click here for more information.

For those of you who missed the CannaGrow Expo, Horticulture 360 is a conference for green thumbs on Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 at the Denver Mart. Tuesday will be for participating businesses only; the public can check out cultivation vendors, educational talks on growing, and glass shows starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Tickets are $30. The High Times Cannabis Cup will return to Denver April 18-20 at the Denver Mart. The Denver 420 Rally is back April 18 and 19 at the Civic Center Park, and it might be better than ever. Rumor has it Rick Ross is headlining the free concert Sunday at 4:20 p.m., and there will be numerous political rallies throughout the weekend.
