Clover Leaf University and THC Safety are offering some grown-up cannabis business courses this week. They're not intended for the novice or underqualified — but there's still a heap of high times for regular folk in this week's Cannabis Calendar.

THC Safety is offering a Marijuana Concentrate Production Technology Course on Wednesday, October 7, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 7881 Shaffer Parkway in Littleton. The course, aimed at industry professionals and potential marijuana extraction business owners, isn't for amateurs. Taught by a chemist and extraction professional, the class will teach students about specific Colorado regulations, commercial extraction processes, applicable chemistry and safety procedures. Passing the course fulfills Sections 604 and 605 of the Marijuana Enforcement Division's regulations. Register for $195 at thc-safety.com. 21+

Clover Leaf University presents Understanding Recreational Cannabis Laws 102 on Thursday, October 8, from 4 to 8 p.m at the Clover Leaf University campus at 3888 East Mexico Avenue. Students will learn about the differences between medical and recreational marijuana laws, state and local licensing procedures and how to stay ahead of ever-changing marijuana regulation. Register for $299 at the CLU website

Local artist Heidi Keyes will teach her 21+ Puff, Pass and Paint class at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 10, at 2087 South Grant Street. All equipment is included in the $50 fee, and although cannabis consumption (bring your own) is encouraged, it's not required. Go to the Puff, Pass and Paint website for more information.

Terrapin Care Station on 33rd Avenue in Aurora offers free tours of its cultivation operation on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Each four-person tour is first come, first served, and lasts about thirty minutes. After a short introductory video, guests will go on a walking tour through the growing facility, where they'll learn how Terrapin pot products are manufactured from seed to sale. For those of you hoping to take a selfie during the tour for your Instagram page, sorry — no photos allowed. Learn more at the Terrapin website. 21+

Think you can tell the difference between Durban Poison and Sour Diesel? Put your nostrils to the test at the Trichome Institute's Interpening Cannabis Sommelier Course on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m at Colorado Free University. Just like a wine-tasting course, this hands-on class will teach students how to smell the differences between cannabis strains and detect unacceptable qualities in flower. Cost is $299. Licensed industry employees and groups of five or more should inquire about discounts. 21+
