Gluten-free diets are pervasive these days, but as trendy as gluten-free diets can be, there are those who truly need to shed the protein composite from their diet. Celiac Disease affects about one in every 100 people in America and requires complete avoidance of gluten. Jake Rosenbarger of Kim & Jake's Cakes in Boulder was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2012; tonight Kim and Jake Rosenbarger of Kim & Jake's Cakes are partnering with Alex Figura of Lower48 Kitchen, our Best New Restaurant in the Best of Denver 2014, on a special (and gluten-free) evening of food and drink.
Tonight's menu format at Lower48 Kitchen will keep the same division between "Each," "Small" and "Large" plates, but every dish will be gluten-free; cocktails, wine and gluten-free beer will be available.
Kim & Jake's Cakes will have a market set up in the restaurant, where it will be selling an assortment of gluten-free baked goods, including breads and cookies, and the Denver Celiac Chapter Support Group will have an information table and representative on hand to answer any questions about Celiac Disease.
