Cannabis brands often have their best deals around April 20, but one Denver pot shop is taking 4/20 promotions extra seriously this year.
The Center, a dispensary located in an old firehouse on 600 South Broadway, has promised to essentially give away a full pound of weed to two lucky winners who shop at the store between April 14 and Sunday, April 20. According to a promotional flyer on the Center's website, a drawing will be held on Monday, April 21, to pick one recreational customer and one registered medical patient as winners.
Every $60 spent at the Center through April 20 counts as one entry in the contest,
Because of Colorado cannabis laws, collecting the prize won't be as easy as picking up a free pound all at once, however.
Dispensaries cannot sell more than one ounce of marijuana flower per day to a recreational customer, and are capped at two ounces for most medical patients. Licensed cannabis companies are banned from giving away free products or samples to customers, as well.
To work around this, contest winners will pick up their pounds of pot one ounce at a time, and the Center will charge them one penny for each pickup — totalling sixteen cents.
Maybe that's why the contest is called Win a Pound for Pennies...
