One of the oldest and most popular hybrids, Blueberry has been around in one form or another since the 1970s. This is a strain that people who have never even tried marijuana seem to know about, mostly because they are curious as to whether it really tastes like blueberries. It does -- when grown right, that is. Otherwise, it takes on a generic bubble-gum fruitiness. There are several versions of Blueberry, but DJ Short's is by far the best, and one to search out. Not only does the bud take on a fruity, tart smell and flavor that mimics blueberries, but the flowers are pretty and often fade into light purples and blues. It's also a really, really stoney plant -- one that pretty much defines couch-lock. That said, it's rarely grown well and is unfortunately just a shelf-filler at a lot of dispensaries. When it's good, though, it's great. So keep your nose peeled.
