It is easy to pass off White Denim (due tonight at the Larimer Lounge with The Growlers) as psychedelic garage rock -- except the reverb isn't there and the Austin-based act implements some seriously dub-like rhythms. Labels aside, the power trio (that recently became an even tighter foursome) incite a spazzy reaction at live shows as it embraces the urgent jerk of Gang of Four and Minutemen.

On tour in support of its fourth record, D, White Denim's sound may now be a step closer to the jams of psychedelia, but the group still keeps it pretty post-punk by balancing intricate melodies and boogie down tendencies. This show is 21 and up, and tickets are $12-15. Doors open at 8 p.m., and bands start at 10 p.m.
