Vail Jazz Festival Announces Summer Lineup

The Vail Jazz Festival has recruited numerous internationally known jazz legends for more than two decades, and this season, which kicks off in July, is slated to be its biggest season ever. This year's lineup includes veteran guitarist John Pizzarelli, Canadian trumpeter Bria Skonberg, young pianist Joey Alexander, Grammy-winning vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant and others.

Vail Jazz is offering a four-pack premium subscription ($135), which is on sale now and will only be available through July 7. Individual tickets ($20 general admission, $40 premium seating) for these shows are also on sale now. 

The festival culminates with the Vail Jazz Party over Labor Day Weekend, from September 1 through September 5, with Diego Figueiredo, Bobby Floyd, Adrian Cunningham, Niki Haris’ Gospel Prayer Meetin’ and more. Tickets ($55/$75 individual sessions, $375 performance pass, $450 patron pass) are on sale now. 

Free jazz events will be held at the Vail Farmers' Market from noon to 3 p.m., June 26 through August 28. Jammin’ Jazz Kids (11 a.m. at the Jazz Tent four Sundays in July) is for children between the ages of eight and twelve; kids can try out a variety of instruments during these free, fun, hands-on workshops. The Colorado High School Band Showcase takes place every Sunday in August, and Vail Jazz will debut a different Colorado-based jazz band from around the state in the Jazz Tent at 11 a.m. Vail Jazz @ The Remedy will feature local jazz legend  Tony Gulizia and visiting jazz musicians on Sunday nights at the event’s new home at the Four Seasons Resort. The series starts July 3 and runs through August 28.
